Navy In The Burbs

Words by Matt Huxley

In case you’ve been living under a rock, there’s been a boatload of American sailors in town all week. I know right.

I also seriously love nautical-inspired fashion. It is relaxed, yet chic, and blue and white suits everybody. Literally, everybody. If you wanted to make this more summery, swap the pants for a pair of light coloured shorts, tuck the shirt in, and take off the scarf.

This look was inspired when I picked up this long line, striped tee (lord knows, y’all know oversize tees give me life). For a striped shirt, it’s surprisingly flattering, particularly on someone with more than a few lumps and bumps.

I paired it with a pair of Guess spliced jeans, a navy trench from Asia, a Lee Mathews scarf which I love and my Zu brogues with Bondi Laces shoelaces.

This look was shot by the epic Ant over at Painted Rust. Follow him on Facebook and Insta @paintedrust.
