Baroque
Words by Matt Huxley
It should be no surprise to anyone who knows me that I love old stuff. History, era’s, old shit. It interests me. So when I get the opportunity to take that over into clothing, I do it! Fortunately for those around me it happens rarely.
So when I spotted this baroque print sleeve in a Topman sale a few years ago I knew I had to pick it up. And you know what? It’s given me life ever since. The raglan style cut of the sleeves, the print, the black. Just everything combined to make a well-worn shirt.
What better way to contrast an olden style print, then with some modern-ish graffiti on the side of a toilet block. My wonderful photographer was less than amused by my choice of location… But hey. If Keira Rae can stand on a septic tank so can I. And yes, I’m serving you squinty eyed realness. Cheers sun.
As always, this shoot was photographed by the amazing Ant of Painted Rust, go show him some love on Instagram @paintedrust.
