Army Green

Words by Matt Huxley

When it comes to my lower half I’m usually pretty formulaic. A rich black, a nice weathered blue or the odd camel are the usuals that grace my legs.

But there’s a new pant that’s caught my eye. I’ve always been a fan of darker green tones – Khaki, Army, Forest etc. But I’ve only ever really worn them once. I haven’t been able to find a really good cut with the colour I’ve wanted.

But I was browsing the jeans and denim online at Glue Store the other week and came across this uber cute pair of slim cut Army Green jeans. They fit tightly but without being snug, skim my lower calves and have enough wiggle room to allow me to pig out at brunch without feeling like a sausage.

They’re also a very versatile piece in my wardrobe – filling a gap I didn’t even realise I had. You can pair these back with neutral blacks and whites, or go all out and clash it with a brighter orange.

Army green is definitely one of those colours that tend to spring up in every autumn/winter collection, meaning that it’s bang on trend right now. I decided to go the classic black and green combo, and I’m definitely loving the effect. It oozes cool insouciance without trying too hard and provides a nice contrast from my usual all black garb.
