Rising From The Ashes
Words by Matt Huxley
After being (quite literally) burnt out at my previous shoot, I decided to take a stroll back to the area to see what I could find.
This Siksilk combo are my new current faves. I’m a huge fan of a shirt that looks pretty generic from the front and then has a serious floral party going on in the back. It’s these little details that make Siksilk such a cool brand. The fabric is a really nice quality too. I’m definitely going to have to pick up a few more of these bad boys.
As it’s starting to get warmer (goddamn you Brisbane) I decided that shorts with lots of rips and tears would be totally appropriate. These skinny ones are from Siksilk as well, and are super flattering and edgy. I mean, I have zero issues flashing a bit of thigh skin. Just as long as it doesn’t get to the stage where my fat bulges through them, then we’re good.
But back to the fire. Weaving my way around the charred landscape, the flowers on the back of my shirt show a glimmer of hope, foreshadowing the regrowth that will occur there in a few weeks.
