Visiting The Spa

Words by Matt Huxley

Diversifying by a brand is relatively commonplace now, with many brands releasing higher and lower end lines. The Body Shop is no different, with the upcoming release of their high end spa line. I got a sneaky try of the new luxurious products, and man, was I taken to a spa. The products are beautiful, with global ingredients and a fresh packaging. Totally unlike any other Body Shop product.

Japanese Camellia Cream

This beautiful body cream is really hydrating and leaves your skin moist with a slight floral scent. I would have actually liked a slightly stronger scent with this, but hey, it did the job. Absorbing quickly, I didn’t find that this cream left any residue or unpleasant feeling after using it.

Dead Sea Salt Scrub

This is a very heavy duty body scrub, with huge salt chunks acting as the exfoliating agent. It was almost a tad too rough for my skin and I think I would’ve preferred slightly smaller granules. Having said that it gave my skin an excellent exfoliation without leaving it dry and flaky. The oils present in the product ensure that your skin remains hydrated.

Moroccan Rhassoul Body Clay

I wasn’t a gigantic fan of this product to be honest. For my skin at least I didn’t see a huge difference and the experience of standing in a cold bathroom covered in clay isn’t totally appetising.

Polynesian Monoi Radiance Oil

Now this product I loved. It’s an oil that you can use both in your hair and on your body, although I only tested it on my body. It’s beautiful. In contrast to most oils I’ve used, it sinks straight into your skin, without hours of massaging. It leaves you hydrated and non greasy, with a pleasant scent. 10/10 would buy again.
