Forest Jaunts

Words by Matt Huxley

I rarely (ok never) go into the forest (or “woods” for my American readers). However I ventured into a slightly forested area in order to shoot this look, which I feel is entirely suitable for going for a forest outing. It’s super versatile, warm, keeps off the bugs, and is light enough so you won’t sweat.

I’m really a fan of muted petrol blues and aquas, so when I saw this oversized (yay), roll neck (double yay) shirt on sale at Topman I knew that it had to be bought immediately. It’s so comfortable I’m actually wearing it right now ;).

With something this loose on top you need to balance it out with a tight fitting pant, and all my safari chic ambitions are made with this pair of veeeeery tight chinos from Industrie.

A boot is necessary in the wilderness, and whilst these suede ankle boots won’t keep off the elements for long, they’re fly as fuck. Special kudos go to Bondi Laces for sending me these super cute laces to go with.

Last but certainly not least is this silk scarf that’s asian “Burberry”. I.e. I bought it in a market. But it’s fantastic, and can be either made as a statement piece or dressed down via layering.

What do YOU wear in the forest? Let me know by commenting over on my Facebook page, or on Instagram @infirmofpurpose.
