My Product Empties

Words by Matt Huxley

Keeping bundles of trash in your bathroom for months on end is not fun. Trust me. But whilst it’s a nuisance for me, it results in a lot of useful information for you. With an empties post/video if you scroll to the end of this article, you really get to see what I’ve been using, as well as get my thoughts on it! You are so welcome.

Of course you need to follow me on Instagram and Snapchat @infirmofpurpose, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Bloglovin and Lookbook.

Cetaphil Moisturising Cream: I absolutely love this moisturiser! It’s a super thick and rich moisturising cream that doesn’t sit too heavily on the skin. It’s great because it won’t clog your pores – winner! I would recommend this for any type of skin, however keep in mind that it’s a night only moisturiser. Or possibly under thick makeup.

H/E by Jane Iredale Makeup brush: I love the bronzer that accompanied this brush, but the brush itself? No way. It’s shit to be perfectly blunt. Good idea, but unfortunately the bristles shed everywhere and it got far too annoying. Bye!

Garnier Moisture Match Dry Skin Moisturiser: Another product that I didn’t like. This moisturiser was really thick and clogging on my skin. I also felt that it was far too scented for something that was sinking into my face. I do like a few of the other moisturisers that Garnier stock, so I’ll stick to them from now on!

Simple Light Moisturiser: My absolute fave moisturiser. I use this every day. It’s amazing. Go buy it.

Neutrogena Naturals Cleanser: I quite enjoyed this cleanser! It’s a bit of a dupe for the Dermalogica Special Cleansing gel which is awesome. It foams super easily and gives a good clean.

Nivea In Shower Moisturiser: I bought this product out of sheer curiosity to be honest. It lasted a while actually! I did quite enjoy it. Despite my doubts it did manage to moisturise my skin despite being used in the shower, and washed off.

Nivea Lip Balm: I go through so much fucking lip balm. This one is always a winner. Cheap, provides good moisture, it’s a no brainer.

Sunsilk Essential Care Shampoo Longer and Stronger: This is an affordable shampoo that gives a good solid clean. Definitely would repurchase. I think this range has something for everyone as well.

L’oreal Colour Protect Shampoo: This shampoo was ok, I wouldn’t rush to get it again. It did the job, but wasn’t anything special.

Maybelline Matte Maker Powder: I was DEVO when I broke this. Luckily I could just go grab another one. This is my go to powder, I love it.

The Body Shop Maca Root Shave Cream:  This is a good shave cream. It’s really thick though so it’s best applied with a brush so keep that in mind. You can probably find cheaper alternatives.

Moogoo Cow Lick Lip Balm: The Moogoo lip balm is quite cream and enjoyable. It was a pretty solid lip balm, I go through so much that I literally grab anything. This wasn’t amazing, but it did the job well.

Tresemme Keratin Strength Shampoo: A nice moisturising shampoo, this was a good one to use every few washes. It would be too heavy for me to use every day. But it’s a nice one to have on hand.

The Body Shop Maca Root Razor Relief: A great after shave balm. This knocks out all the redness and razor rash that you can get after shaving. Smells pretty decent too.

Garnier Pore Refining Toner: My all time favourite toner. I love this stuff! It’s gentle, yet does the trick. Already got my new one.

Redken Blow Dry Primer: I didn’t particularly love this to be honest. It didn’t really do that much. Pretty blah.

Sally Hansen Miracle Strength Nail Conditioner: This actually works! You will definitely notice a difference after a week. If you don’t bite your nails of course…

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel: One of my fave lush scents. This is a really sweet smelling shower gel. I love it but it’s not for everyone.

Manicare Powder Brush: This is the first brush that everyone gets haha. Mine had an unfortunate accident with a draw. It’s not the best, maybe stick to other brushes!

Sukin Rosehip Oil: Any sort of rose hip oil will be good for your face. This one was quite nice. Either mix it in with your moisturiser or use it on its own.

Triumph and Disaster Shave Cream: A pretty decent shave cream. I wouldn’t rush to purchase it.

Lynx Deodorant: Eh. Nothing will stop me sweat. This one smelt nice.

Simple Rich Moisturiser: Dear Simple. Please discontinue this moisturiser. The Light one is far superior and I keep getting confused in Chemist Warehouse.

Triumph and Disaster Facial Moisturiser: It’s pretty hard to get a sense of a product from a small sample. This one didn’t make me break out, but I didn’t love it either.

Oral B Mouthwash: I enjoy this mouthwash. Any mouthwash will do the job though haha.

Viktor and Rolf Spicebomb Fragrance: My favourite scent! I need to repurchase this… Christmas present for me please.

Catwalk by Tigi Sea Salt Spray: I used this sea salt spray before I blow dried my hair. It was good! It provided a good amount of texture to my hair. Would recommend.

Target Facewipes: Just don’t do it guys.

Listerine Mouthwash: Another mouthwash. I go through so many! Yeah, decent.

Original Mineral Hair Mask: This was a hair mask that I used as a conditioner. I did notice a big difference in my hair. Because my hair is so thin though, I don’t think I could use this all the time. But it’s really enjoyable.

Lonvitalite Face Mask: I absolutely loved these sheet masks! Lonvitalite have a great range so definitely check them out and pick the one for your skin type.

Target Cotton Pads: Meh. Everyone has these.

Goldwell Hair Lacquer: A decent hair spray. I would re buy. Get it from Hairhouse Warehouse for like $10. Solid.
